In October 2001, it was named as "Hometown of Chinese Acrobatics" by Chinese Acrobats Association.

In June 2008, "Northeast Village Acrobatics" was rated as a national intangible cultural heritage.

In July 2009, it was named as the characteristic acrobatic culture  tourism village of Henan province by the provincial government.

In September 2009, Hualong District (Puyang city) was designated as the cultural reform and development pilot area of Henan province by the provincial government.

In December 2013, it was rated as the characteristic cultural base of Henan province by the propaganda department of the provincial committee.

In July 2014, it was selected into the second batch of "traditional villages" in Henan province.
