The Qiaos class
Qiao class acrobatics originated from the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty. Around 1755, Qiao Siming, Qiao Sihai and Qiao Sike set up a family class to perform in other places and integrated with Wuqiao in Hebei province. In the late Qing dynasty, George, the third generation class master, led the class to create an acrobatic troupe with the sun family class led by Wu Qiao and Sun Fuyou, which was known as "the best shed in the world".
Later, Qiao Zhiqing married Zhang Suzhen of the sun family class, returned to the village to carry forward the Qiao family class acrobatics and gained fame in martial arts, equestrian, magic, training animals and other aspects of the characteristics. Qiao Xuan, Qiao Xiang, Qiao Dao settled Pu county of Shanxi Province and established acrobatic class. Qiao Wenguo settled in Luo He, Qiao Wenjian in HeiLongjiang, Qiao Sanmo in Tibet, Qiao Futian in Ningxia, Qiao Guilin and Qiao Motou in Wanxian municipality, Sichuan, and Qiao Zhiqing’s apprentice Xu Baolin and Gao Yunfeng set up Xu class and Gao class respectively.
The class performed in more than 20 countries, including Korea, Japan, Russia, the Philippines and India, in coordination with the diplomacy of the Qing dynasty. At the beginning of the Republic of China, he performed in Shanghai "big world", "Lou Wai Lou", "thirty floor sky" and other theaters. In the 1940s, people such as Gu Yushan and Cui Shoutang set up their own classes. After the founding of new China, many people joined the acrobatic troupes in provinces, cities and counties and became the backbone.
